Here I feature one book at a time and share who it was written for, what readers can expect, and where to find a copy.

The Conversion of the Nez Perce
The Forgotten Christian History of a Native Nation
How deeply did Christianity take root among the Nez Perce, and what happened after it did? In this book, I follow more than a century of religious change in the Pacific Northwest, from the work of Henry and Eliza Spalding and the first printing in the Nez Perce language to the rise of Native pastors and evangelists.
Drawing on missionary journals, church records, federal documents, oral histories, and Native testimony, I trace how Nez Perce Christians preached in their own language, supported their churches, and passed their faith on to their children. The book also examines the cultural pressures that accompanied missionary work and federal assimilation policies, along with the persistence and revival of older Native beliefs.
I wrote this for readers interested in Native American history, Christian missions, and the Pacific Northwest. I hope it helps you see how Nez Perce believers made Christianity part of their own history.
